The contents this week are: House News, BWR/Campus News, BWR/intramural news, and Academics
House News:
- We are going to be wooing a floor within the week, and we are meeting them on Tuesday for a get-together at Conversations. This will be at 6:30 pm and will be our first interaction with our sister floor, so please dress nicely and be on your best behavior.
- Academic Mountain is still under-way, bring any tests/quizzes that you have on which you received an A to Wyatt and you can get a study buck! Also, if we have the highest cumulative GPA in the building we will receive 55 BWR challenge points, which could be HUGE!
- We won a pizza party for having 85% completion on MAP- works! Good job guys! We have decided to have our pizza party at 3:30 on October 21st, and we have voted on what pizzas we will have (from Jeff's pizza). We will be having 3 bacon, 3 cheese, 3 pepperoni, and 3 sausage pizzas.
- Please refer to Wyatt's email in regards to how the bathrooms have been kept in recent weeks.
BWR/Campus News:
- Boys with Rakes will be October 20th, and it is a great cause that lets us give back to the city of Ames. We will be going around and raking the lawns of people in Ames who may not be able to rake their own lawns.
- There will be a Bingo game on Wednesday at 9:00 at Welch Ayers, there will be prizes!
- We will be getting BWR t-shirts, so if you have any ideas submit them to Joel, Wyatt, or Ryan. (note: these are separate from the Birch Lange t-shirts we are planning, and if you have a design you think would be good for those please present it to Wyatt)
- On the 21st there will be a pumpkin carving event, and each house will receive one pumpkin to carve as a team. There will also be a BWR challenge related to this in which the best pumpkin will earn the floor a sum of points.
- There is a bill being considered to rent out the state gym pool in order to host a BWR pool party. We voted that we would like to have it on a Saturday for 2 hours between 6-10pm. More information on this will be dispersed when it becomes available.
- Spots are still open on VEISHEA cabinets, if you're interested refer to this link: veishea site. It is a great way to help out around ISU for a truly spectacular event!
- The inner courtyard encompassed by BWR may be remodeled in the future, and if you have any ideas of what you'd like to see there see Ryan and he can pass it on to the Hall council.
- There will be a campus safety walk on October 9th
- Zach Wahls will be coming to ISU! He is set to come on April 2nd.
- They may be putting in bike pumps near the arches or in other areas around BWR and distributed around campus. We voted that this this would be something we would like to see, so we will see how it goes at hall council.
- We may be having a horror-film/costume party for the hall, near Halloween more than likely.
